This USACE project consisted of excavation of a 35-foot wide working platform area along the proposed centerline of the slurry trench. The slurry trench was excavated from this platform consisting of a 3-foot wide by varying depths from a minimum of 70 feet to a maximum of 95 feet deep excavation for 7500 linear feet. The excavated material was placed riverside of the working platform in the provided ROW and mixed with bentonite to be placed back in the excavated trench in order to form a permanent seepage cutoff wall. The disturbed areas during construction were fertilized and seeded upon completion of the seepage cutoff wall (slurry trench).
